During my time as a volunteer and news intern at WRFI Community Radio in downtown Ithaca, I've both independently produced features and participated in collaborations with other Ithaca College students and local Ithaca media. I have contributed reporting, been an audio editor and mixer, as well as created features independently from start to finish.
I produced and edited this feature during my internship at WRFI, while training a volunteer in audio recording and editing. We interviewed Amanda Kirchgessner, candidate for New York state's 58th Senate District.
I produced and edited this feature with contributing reporting from my News Director during my internship. I investigated the future of the Rescue Mission, the tension between the facility and Tompkins County, and Rescue Mission clients.
I interviewed Frank Edwards, a postdoctoral associate at Cornell's Bronfenbrenner Center, about the risk of police related death for males. Our conversation was produced and edited entirely by me. Listen here.
I talked campaign finance, voter issues and the difficulty of being a write-in candidate with Scott Noren, a doctor in Ithaca running against New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Produced and edited entirely by me.
I recorded this spot during my internship about local Ithaca journalists honoring the five journalists shot and killed from the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland. Produced and edited entirely by me.
I co-produced this interview with Hunter Friedland, developer of the app Rewardzzz, which allows Ithacans to earn rewards from local businesses with blockchain technology.
I co-produced this piece about safer consumption spaces in Ithaca, featuring local policy coordinator for the Drug Policy Alliance, Katherine Celentano.
I participated in this eight part collaboration with WRFI, The Ithaca Voice, Hot Potato Press and the Park Scholar Program as a contributing reporter and writer after I began volunteering at WRFI.
